Canada Council Collab

June 27, 2019 7:00PM - 9:00PM FREE

The Canada Council for the Art’s Collab is a series of free sessions to help new and early-career artists and groups apply for their first grant or improve their next grant application. We are hosting Collab in Toronto this June in partnership with the City of Toronto and Toronto Arts Council. Over five days, we will lead day-long sessions at Ryerson University’s The Catalyst Learning Centre.

Collab sessions will answer some of the big questions you might have about the Council and navigating life as an artist, including:
Canada Council — what does it do, and which of its grant programs can help me?

-Grant applications — what do I need to include in my application and how can I make it stand out?
-Granting decisions — what’s the overall process and how will my application be assessed?
-Explore the Canada Council’s online portal for grant applications and meet with the Council staff to discuss specific questions.
-Each day of Collab will provide a specific focus to better address your needs:
-New and early career artists: If you haven’t attended an information session before, and have never before applied for a grant from the Canada Council for the Arts.

Tune up: If you are already familiar with the Canada Council for the Arts and want to tune-up your grant application skills.
Indigenous artists: If you identify as First Nations, Inuit or Métis.
