For Immediate Building Emergencies: Call 911.

Please do not use elevators during a fire emergency.

Artscape Weston Common is equipped with a range of monitoring equipment and staffed during operational hours. Staff, visitors, and other members of the Weston-Mount Dennis community are asked to help maintain a secure and safe building environment by staying observant and aware of Artscape safety and security policies and procedures described below:

Building Emergency: Situations can vary from a weather emergency, gas leak, flood, fire or human threats to safety.  If the PA system fails for any reason, staff is equipped with loud speakers to provide direction. Those individuals requiring additional assistance leaving the building should seek help or shelter until further assistance is available. Fire evacuation: Artscape Weston Common has a two stage fire alarm, the first including a warning tone and message, 'There is a fire alarm which is being investigated, please standby.' At this first stage, those in the building should pack up and be prepared to exit the building using the closest fire exit. During the following stage, alert tones continue along with instructions to 'please leave the building immediately,' at which point, everyone evacuates the premises (please do not use elevators during a fire emergency). Upon exiting, all evacuees should congregate in the plaza through the front entrance to the building or through the exit next to the train tracks (north of building) as directed by staff. Staff will advise when the situation is resolved. Suspicious persons should be reported to staff immediately by calling 437-912-9189 ext. 5646. For any violent or dangerous individuals, please contact 911 and seek a protected place to hide and wait for help. Harassment of any kind is not tolerated at Artscape Weston Common. Minors who feel as though they have been harassed, bullied, or mistreated should reach out to a trusted adult (staff). When harassment occurs, please address this with security as quickly as possible, so that any appropriate follow-up can occur. Staff members should speak with their immediate supervisor or Human Resources concerning harassment. At the time of harassment, victims or witnesses should take note of the exact details of the incident, identify other witnesses, and the location within the building at the time of the activity. Severe weather may occur at any time; please feel free to contact staff in advance should you have any questions or concerns regarding inclement weather forecasts. In the case of a weather-related emergency, everyone in the building will be advised by security with instructions. Power Failures are rare at Artscape Weston Common as the building is equipped with an Emergency Power Backup system that ensures lights in all common areas and life safety systems function continuously. In the unlikely event of a power outage, please proceed to the ground floor and await instructions from staff.
